Mokrino Springs is located near Strumica on the northern side of the beautiful Mount Belasica. Smolare and Kolesino Water falls are nearby and a wonderful experience. The village of Mokrino has the name due to the marshes and springs in the vicinity. In Macedonian language the meaning of "Mokro" is wet. The springs are located 80 meters from the road. The "Mokrino Springs Forever" project began in the spring of 2005 and has helped improve the area around the springs in many ways. The people involved in the project consist of local citizens from Mokrino and Novo Selo. Some of the improvements were building bridge, landscaping the area, and building a path for the picnic area to make it more attractive for the tourists. For more information use the links below. We drove down early on the morning of 29 Oktober 2006. It was an easy hike and we enjoyed the Kolesino and Smolare Waterfalls along with Mokrino Springs all in one day.
